Next Skye Ward Forum to focus on Council Services.

The next Highland Council Eilean a' Cheò Ward Forum will provide an opportunity for key council services to give an overview of services provided on the Island of Skye.

Tim Stott, Highland Council’s Principal Planner, and Mark Harvey, Team Leader with the Council’s Planning, Environment and Development Service will lead on Development and Local Planning.  Mark Crowe, Council Community Works Manager, will advise on Transport, Environmental and Community Services with Norma Young, Area Education Manager, covering Education issues.

Representatives from the Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service will also be present to give their regular update on service changes.  NHS Highland will be in attendance to give an up-to-date position on the Redesign of Healthcare Services process that is currently underway on Skye.

The Forum is chaired by Councillor Drew Millar and discussion will follow the presentations involving Forum members, with Community Council Chairs representing the community view.

Councillor Millar said: “I am delighted that community representatives continue to embrace the new style Forum and that we are working toward community planning being really effective on the island.”

There will be time set aside at the end of the meeting to take questions from the floor, and to address any public questions to the Forum.  Public questions should be advised in advance of the Forum in writing in order that informed responses can be given at the meeting.

The Ward Forum will take place on Monday 10 June from 2 - 4pm in the Council Chamber, Tigh na Sgire, Portree.  Members of the public are welcome to attend.
