£350,000 resurfacing works - A835 west of Contin

Issued by BEAR Scotland

Works start Monday 9 February for two weeks. Essential resurfacing works worth £350,000 will be carried out on a 1.5km section of the A835, west of Contin.

This investment by Transport Scotland will see the road being upgraded and ensure that the A835 continues to operate safely for years to come.

Works are scheduled to start on Monday 9 February for two weeks and will be carried out between the hours of 7am to 7pm each day. Due to the restricted width of the carriageway on this section of the A835, and to ensure the safety of road users and operatives alike, temporary traffic lights and a 10mph convoy system will be in operation while works are undertaken.

Outwith working hours, traffic management will be removed but a 30mph speed limit will remain in place to allow traffic to pass safely over the temporary surface.

Commenting on the works Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Unit Operating Company Representative, said: “These resurfacing works have been designed to improve the surface of this section of the road, providing a safer and smoother drive.

“Due to the location and nature of the works, some minor disruption is to be expected, so we would encourage people to plan ahead before setting out on their journey by checking the Traffic Scotland website for the latest travel information. We thank road users in advance for their patience whilst these works are carried out.”
