Health Improvement

Community Planning partnerships are required to prepare Joint Health Improvement Plans which will set out objectives, strategies and actions for each partner organisation to improve health and reduce inequalities within the local population. The Policy Team will develop the Council's contribution to the plan, take agreed objectives, facilitate their interpretation and transfer into service delivery, work with Wellbeing Alliance Partners to develop further the improving health and wellbeing priority area in the Community Plan and Community Planning process and promote the idea that health is everyone's business.

The Director of Public Health and Health Policy for the Highlands and Argyll and Bute, Dr Eric Baijal, reports on public health issues affecting the area in his Annual Report 2007/2008 - Making Highland Healthy (PDF).
