• Delivering New Care Homes – Site Identification (PDF)

The Highland Council is committed to delivering 5 new Care Homes for its population of older people.

This report advises Members of the Housing and Social Work Committee of the progress made in identifying suitable sites for the newbuild care homes, in accordance with the site specification agreed by the Committee. It outlines in section 6 how the views of key stakeholders will be canvassed and taken into account with an update report returning to the Committee in May. Meantime, and in tandem, the report seeks approval to progress to outline planning applications in respect of the suitable identified sites. Outline planning permission in respect of the suitable identified sites will be sought following due consultation.

We welcome any views you have on the progress to deliver the Care Homes and on the suitability of identified sites. We will be happy to receive your comments at social.work@highland.gov.uk
