How do I become a Carer?

If, after speaking to us and reading the information we provide, you are interested in becoming a Carer, we will arrange for the Scheme Co-ordinator to visit you at home.

This gives you an opportunity to ask any questions you have about the Scheme.  Is also gives the Co-ordinator a chance to find out a bit about you, your accommodation and why you want to become a Carer.

After this meeting, if you are still interested and the Co-ordinator thinks you might be a suitable Carer, we will ask you to fill in an application form.

Placement Carers are well paid for the Service they provide.  On the lower rate you will receive £40 per 24 hours, or £280 per week.  On the higher rate (for those in receipt of Attendance Allowance High Rate Care component) you will receive £56 per 24 hours or £392 per week.
