Access to Information
The Highland Council collects and maintains information and data to enable it to carry out its statutory duties. In some cases this information is a matter of public record and readily available through the Council's publication scheme. In other cases, e.g. care records or a customer's financial details, the information must be held securely and disclosed only to the appropriate parties.
Access to information is governed by a number of pieces of legislation. Council staff will help you to obtain the information you need unless disclosure would be against the law.
To request information you can email foi@highland.gov.uk or send your request in writing to the Freedom of Information Officer, Chief Executive's Office, Glenurquhart Road, Inverness, IV3 5NX.
