Environmental Information

The Environmental Information Regulations (Scotland) 2004 give individuals the right to access environmental information held by public authorities.

The public authority has 20 working days to respond to a request for information.  Some information is exempt from disclosure, if one of the exceptions applies.  Examples of exceptions are commercial information and information about research which has not been completed.

The Scottish Information Commissioner is responsible for the enforcement of the Environmnetal Information Regulations.
