Minutes of Meeting of the Ross, Skye and Lochaber Licensing Committee held in Committee Room 1, Council Offices, High Street, Dingwall, on Tuesday 15 January 2008 at 11.00 am.

1. Apologies for Absence

 

Apologies for absence were intimated on behalf of Mr Alan Henderson and Mrs Jean Urquhart.

 

2. Confirmation of Minutes

 

There had been circulated for confirmation the Minutes of the Meeting of the Ross, Skye and Lochaber Licensing Committee held on 18 December 2007.

The Minutes were held as read and approved.
 


3. Application for House in Multiple Occupation Licence – Royal Hotel, Dingwall, Ross-shire

 

There had been circulated Report No. LCR/01/08 by the Area Solicitor advising of the receipt of an application for a House in Multiple Occupation Licence for the Royal Hotel, Dingwall, together with an Enforcement Notice issued by the Fire and Rescue Service relevant to this use of the premises.  The Report recommended that the Committee agree to defer determination of the application, either (a) to allow it to be approved under delegated powers in the event that the requirements identified and the Council’s standards were met or (b) if not able to be approved under delegated powers to a future meeting of the Committee when the application would be determined in terms of the Hearings Procedure.

The Committee agreed the recommendation.

 


4. Applications for House in Multiple Occupation Licences – 24 Rowan Drive, Culbokie and Beaufort, High Street, Culbokie

 

There had been circulated Report No. LCR/02/08 by the Area Solicitor advising of the receipt of two applications for Houses in Multiple Occupation Licences for premises at 24 Rowan Drive, Culbokie and Beaufort, High Street, Culbokie.  The Report recommended that the Committee agree to defer determination of the applications, either (a) to allow them to be approved under delegated powers in the event that all necessary requirements were met or (b) if not approved under delegated powers to a future meeting of the Committee when the application(s) would be determined in terms of the Hearings Procedure.

 

The Committee agreed the recommendation.
