Minutes of Meeting of the Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross Licensing Committee held in Assembly Rooms, Wick on Tuesday 19th June, 2007

1. Apologies for Absence
Apologies for absence were intimated on behalf of Mrs. Katrina MacNab and Mrs. Maxine Smith.
2. Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 – Application for Renewal of Taxi Driver’s Licence
The Committee was invited to consider an application for the renewal of a taxi driver’s licence lodged by Mr. Ian Mackay, in light of a letter of observation received from the Northern Constabulary. A copy of the Council’s Hearing’s Procedure had been circulated with the agenda for the Meeting. A copy of the Committee Report, Mr. Mackay’s application and the letter from the Northern Constabulary were circulated to the Committee members at the Meeting. Mrs Sinclair explained that as the Committee is acting in a quasi-judicial capacity when determining the application, no recommendation would be made.
Mr Mackay and PC George Ewing of Northern Constabulary were present at the meeting. The Hearing took place. The Committee agreed to grant the application.
3. Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 - Application for Late Hours Catering Licence
Mrs Sinclair explained that the application by Mr. Dao Li Zhao, in respect of Dragon House Chinese Restaurant, 134 High Street, Wick had been withdrawn.
4. Dates of Future Meetings
The Committee agreed the following provisional schedule of dates for future meetings of the Licensing Committee, meetings to be held only if hearings are necessary:-
- 28th August, 2007
- 2nd October, 2007
- 20th November, 2007
- 18th December, 2007
