There is circulated for approval Minutes of Meetings of the Licensing Committee held on 19th June and 21st August, 2007.
3. Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 – Hearing – Application for Taxi Driver’s Licence
The Committee is invited to consider an application for a Taxi Driver’s Licence lodged by Mr. Jamal M. L. Abdulla (from Thurso Ward) in light of a letter of objection received from the Northern Constabulary.
The relevant papers will be circulated to the Committee on the day of the meeting. A copy of the Council’s Hearings Procedure is appended hereto. The Area Solicitor advises that as the Committee is acting in a quasi-judicial capacity when determining the application, it is inappropriate to make any recommendation.
4. Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 – Hearing – Application for Renewal of Taxi Driver’s Licence
The Committee is invited to consider an application for the renewal of a Taxi Driver’s Licence lodged by Mr. Paul Thatcher (from Landward Caithness Ward).
The relevant papers will be circulated to the Committee on the day of the meeting. The Area Solicitor advises that as the Committee is acting in a quasi-judicial capacity when determining the application, it is inappropriate to make any recommendation.
