2. Appointment of Chairman
In the absence of the Chairman, Mr A Rhind, the Committee agreed that Mr J Rosie Chair the meeting.
3. Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 – Application for Window Cleaner’s Licence – Keiran Smith
The Committee was invited to consider an application for a window cleaner’s licence lodged by Mr Keiran Smith. A copy of the Council’s Hearing Procedure had been circulated with the agenda for the meeting. A copy of the Committee report and Mr Smith’s application was circulated to the Members of the Committee. Mr Smith and his representative, Mr Richard Kendall, were present at the meeting.
The Area Solicitor explained that there had been no objections to the application, and that the application had been brought to the Committee as Mr Smith had previously been granted a window cleaner’s licence for a period of six months by the Ross and Cromarty Licensing Sub Committee on 22 January 2007 and which had expired on 25 August 2007.
Mr Smith and his representative, Mr Kendall, were then invited to address the Committee.
At the conclusion of the Hearing, the Committee agreed to grant Mr Smith’s application for a window cleaner’s licence for a period of three years, subject to the standard conditions and to the prior submission of the relevant public liability insurance.
