2. Progress Report on Procurement Process

There is circulated Report No swch-17-06 dated 23 November 2006 by the Director of Social Work which provides an update on the Procurement process.

The Care Home Sub-Committee is asked to note the report and agree the competitive dialogue procedure as a way forward as outlined in paragraph 4 of the report.

3. Communication Update

There is circulated Report No swch-18-06 dated 23 November 2006 by the Director of Social Work which gives details of the communication activities in connection with modernising services for the older people agenda.

The Sub-Committee is asked to note the various communication activities which have been undertaken and which are ongoing, in relation to the modernising services for older people agenda, in line with the Communication Strategy agreed by the Care Home Sub-Committee on 16 February 2006.

4. Exclusion of the Public

The Committee is asked to resolve that under Section 50A(4) of  the  Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973, the public be excluded from the meeting during discussion of the following items on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 8, 9 and 11 of Part 1 of Schedule 7A of the Act.

5.  Pre Qualification Evaluation

There is circulated follow Report No SWCH19/06 by the Director of Social Work which seeks approval of the recommendations made by the Care Homes Initiative Project Team, to invite the identified five bidders to participate in the competitive dialogue phase of the process.

The Sub-Committee is asked to approve the recommendations as detailed in the report.
