Remit

The Highland and Westerm Isles Valuation Joint Board is fully responsible for the administrative oversight of the Assessor and Electoral Registration Officer’s activities, in particular setting the annual budget.  It does not have operational responsibility for the determination of valuations, bands or electoral registration.  These operational matters are for the Assessor and Electoral Registration Officer to decide subject to the independent appeal procedures which exist for each area of activity.
