The Scottish Government’s modernisation agenda introduced the requirement that each planning authority establish a Review Body. The function of the Review Body is to determine requests by applicants to review local applications that have:
- been refused by officers of the planning authority;
- been approved by officers subject to conditions; or
- not been determined by officers within two months of the date of submission.
Further details of the terms of reference and the powers and duties delegated to the Review Body are set out in the Council's Scheme of Delegation.
If you wish to lodge a Notice of Review for determination by the Review Body this must be lodged within three months of either the date of the decision notice or from the date of expiry of the two month period allowed for determining the application. For example, the last date for lodging a Notice of Review for a decision notice dated 23 May 2012 would be 22 August 2012.
To submit a notice of review complete the Notice of Review Form (84kb pdf)| Notice of Review Form (86kb Word) and send the completed Notice of Review form and any supporting documentation to the Planning Review Body Administration Team, Chief Executive's Service, Glenurquhart Road, Inverness, IV3 5NX.

The regulations governing review procedure require that all documents you wish to rely upon must be lodged with the Notice of Review form. To save re-submitting all documents lodged at the time the planning application was being processed, the Notice of Review webpage will be linked to the planning authority’s e-Planning website. You can check what is on the e-Planning website by entering your planning application reference number into the search facility.
