2. Confirmation of Minutes
There had been circulated for confirmation the Minute of the Meeting of the Ross, Skye and Lochaber Licensing Committee held on 15 April 2008.
The Minute was held as read and approved.
3. Application for a House in Multiple Occupation Licence – Oxford Hotels and Inns Management Limited
There had been circulated Report No. LCR-06-08 (20kb) by the Area Solicitor advising of the receipt of an application for a House in Multiple Occupation Licence submitted by Oxford Hotels and Inns Management Limited for Staff Accommodation at the Dunollie Hotel, Broadford, Isle of Skye. The Report recommended that the Committee agree to defer determination of the application, either (a) to allow it to be approved under delegated powers in the event that all necessary requirements were met or (b) to a future meeting of the Committee when the application would be determined in terms of the Hearings Procedure.
The Committee agreed the recommendation.
4. Application for Period Approval of a Place to Undertake Solemnisation of Civil Marriages – Greshornish House, Edinbane, Isle of Skye
There had been circulated Report No. LCR-07-08 (19kb) by the Area Solicitor advising of an application for a Period Approval of a venue to undertake the solemnisation of civil marriages for Greshornish House, Edinbane, Isle of Skye, under the Marriage (Scotland) Act 1977 and regulations made thereunder.
As an objection had been received, the application would be determined using the Hearings Procedure.
A copy of the written objection submitted by Mr and Mrs C Watkiss was circulated to the Meeting. Mr and Mrs Watkiss apologised for not being able to attend as they had urgent business meetings to attend to which had been brought forward outside the Isle of Skye due to jury service commitments.
Having heard from the Applicant and considered the written objection, the Committee agreed to approve the application.
There being no further business, the meeting concluded at 11.20 am.
