Disabled Band Reduction

You may be entitled to a reduction if someone with a substantial and permanent disability is resident in your home.

To qualify for a reduction in the Tax and Water Services Charges the property should have either:-

• an additional room, bathroom or kitchen that is predominantly used by the disabled person and which is required for their well-being, or
• sufficient additional floor space to permit the use of a wheelchair with the wheelchair being required to be used within the dwelling by the disabled person.

If you think you may be entitled to Disabled Band Reduction, please contact your nearest Council Service Point or Local Finance Team. You can also download the relevant form using the links opposite, print and return the completed form to the address on the document.  Before you return the form to us please check that you have signed and dated it.  We cannot award Disabled Band Reduction unless we have a signed claim.  

Before any decision is made on a reduction, we may need to visit you at a mutually agreeable time.
