The Returning Officer of the Highland Council (the Chief Executive - Alistair Dodds), supported by the the Council's Elections Manager, carries out the planning, management and administration of all election processes throughout the Highland Council area (and, where appropriate, Highlands and Islands Region) ensuring that they are operated to sound, accountable procedures.
In the months running up to National Elections, an Election Office will be established in the Highland Council Headquarters, Glenurquhart Road, Inverness. Contact details will be published on this page when they become available. The Election Office will be established to manage the European, UK Parliament, Scottish Parliament, Local Government Elections. The Election Manager also organises the Cairngorms National Park Authority elections and assists Area based staff with the management of community council elections and community land buy-out ballots.
