Postal Voting
A total of 21,908 people have applied for a postal vote at the elections being held at the three Highland constituencies. This compares with 12,174 in 2005. Postal votes will be issued to those who have requested to vote this way in the three Highland parliamentary constituencies by Friday 30 April. If your postal voting papers having not arrived by then, please phone 0845 603 5528 and ask for help. If you lose or accidentally spoil your postal ballot paper, please call this number as soon as possible. Replacement ballot papers can only be issued from Friday 30 April.
You must sign (or mark) the postal voting statement and provide your date of birth. This is a security measure. It will not affect your vote or mean that it can be identified. Without your signature and date of birth, the statement will not be valid and your vote will not be counted. The Returning Officer can cross check your signature against other records that he holds.
Please complete and return your postal vote as soon as possible. The Returning Officer must receive your postal vote by 10 pm on Thursday 6 May. You can deliver your completed voting papers to any polling station in the constituency up until this time.
Please note that it is an offence to vote using a ballot paper that is not addressed to you.
