Employee Benefits
pensions
We contribute to a high quality final salary pension scheme that enables you to make adequate provision for when you retire. You put in 6% of your pensionable pay and we make an additional contribution. You don’t have to join the scheme but we will enrol you unless you choose not to go ahead with it. Our basic guide provides details of our Pension Scheme (Local Government Pension Scheme) and a summary of its high-quality pension benefits.
relocation expenses
If you have to move home in order to join us, our generous expenses package (maximum amount £6, 500) makes it easier for you.The post details that you receive for a job application will confirm whether relocation expenses are offered.
employee development
Our induction programme helps all new employees get to know about us. The learning doesn’t stop there, we’ll give you all the training you need for your role. We have a regular review system which focuses on your development needs and gives you the chance to talk about your job, and your plans for the future.
Our commitment is to sustain a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the Council. Our aim is to create blended training that will meet local and individual training needs. We strive to fulfill these goals through the Vocational Qualification Assessment Centre which has achieved the Scottish Quality Management System standards.
We are fully committed to meeting the skilling needs of staff in relation to ICT. Currently, we are extending ECDL training across the Council. Through our e-learning centre we are creating desk-based and home-based learning opportunities with the aid of CD Roms.
