Flexible Employment

work-life balance

You can count on us to support you in combining a balance between your work and home life through flexible working practices.

The development of flexible working practices such as job-sharing, home working, and flexitime is part of our integrated approach to the management of diversity and guarantees equal opportunities for all.

We recognise that best value can only be achieved through a committed workforce and your manager will be encouraged to discuss your requirements in terms of flexible working.

family friendly policies

We recognise that many of our staff have family and caring responsibilities which they combine with their paid employment. Work and home life can create conflicting pressures.

Our generous package of benefits and provisions will support you with your family and caring responsibilities.  We give prospective parents generous maternity and paternity benefits – including those adopting.  We offer up to 13 weeks unpaid leave in line with our Parental Leave policy. And when you need the time off to care for your children or a dependent relative, you’ll find us very flexible, subject to the needs of the service.

flexible hours

Many of our staff benefit from the convenience of being able to work flexible hours.

  • Core hours are 1000 – 1200 and 1400 – 1600 but start and finish times can be flexible to suit your needs as well as those of service provision.
  • The scheme allows you to enjoy up to 13 days of accrued flexi-leave in any one year.
