Job Description:
JOB PURPOSE:
To co-ordinate, develop and deliver the training & assessing needs of the Cleaning Service and to ensure a consistent approach to training across the Highland Area.
This post will involve working closely with Cleaning Officers & administrative staff in various locations throughout the Highlands, and with other Council Services.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Responsible for the line-management of the Training team.
• To ensure all the training & assessing requirements of cleaning staff are carried out
• To liaise and assist as required with the Area Cleaning Officers, Operational Support and the Highland Council Employee Development Team.
• To attend and actively participate in team meetings.
• Responsible for the co-ordination, planning, reviewing and development of all aspects of operational training & assessing within the Cleaning Service.
• To maintain relevant document and administration information systems in relation to the training & assessing of cleaning staff.
• Report verbally and in writing on actions and outcomes, maintaining records of all corrective measures taken to ensure training & assessing compliance are met.
• Make efficient and effective use of, and maintain all training resources including materials and equipment.
OTHER DUTIES:
• There may be a requirement to work outwith normal working hours.
• There will be a requirement to travel throughout the Highlands

Essential Attributes
In order to be able to carry out the duties of this post effectively and safely, candidates will be able to provide evidence of the following.
Experience of training and assessing staff, preferably within a cleaning environment.
Experience of supervising staff and delegating duties as appropriate.
Experience of carrying out individual and group staff training.
Experience in Microsoft Office and related packages
Self motivated, with good organisational skills
Ability to plan & manage time and organise own workload
Ability to work on own initiative within scope of responsibilities
Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels
Ability to maintain relationships and work as part of a team
Ability to identify opportunities to develop and expand the training / assessing requirements of the Service.
The ability to travel and work throughout the Highland Area
