Debt Recovery
The Income and Recovery Team is responsible for the collection of all debts owed to the Highland Council. This includes all unpaid invoices for sundry debt plus council tax, community charge and non-domestic rates once they have progressed to the court stage.
The Income and Recovery Team can negotiate a repayment arrangement for any debts owed to the Highland Council.
Some of the debt is outsourced to the Sheriff Officer for collection. The two companies of Sheriff Officers who act as debt collection agents for the Highland Council are Scott & Co and Stirling Park.
If there is any doubt regarding which agency has responsibility for a debt, we recommend that you contact the relevant Income and Recovery staff who will be able to inform you.
