The Depute Chief Executive & Director of Finance has statutory responsibility for the financial affairs of the Council.
Billing and collecting council tax, administering Council Tax Benefit and Housing Benefit, and billing and collecting business rates.
Billing and collecting water and wastewater charges on behalf of Scottish Water.
Providing financial support to Services in terms of accounting, treasury management, supplier payments, income recovery and payroll.
Treasury and Investments, Budget Strategy, Policy & Taxation, Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) and Joint Ventures.
Support to Northern Constabulary, Highlands & Islands Fire and Rescue Service, and other Joint Boards.
Internal Audit and Insurance and Risk Management.
Statutory Performance Indicators for the Council.
Procurement policy and strategy within the Council ensuring a Best Value approach.
Managing the Pension Schemes for the Council and a number of other associated agencies.
Benefits maximisation and Money Advice.
