Exchequer and Revenues

The Exchequer Section is responsible for the administration of Council Tax, Benefits (Council Tax Benefit and Housing Benefit) and Business Rates. We are also responsible for Income and Recovery and Counter-Fraud Activities. 

We also provide Money Advice services across Highland and maximise income for residents of the Highlands by ensuring those who are entitled to welfare benefits are assisted with the application process. We can also represent customers who wish to appeal the outcome of their benefit claim. The Exchequer Section is also responsible for providing advice and training to the Citizens Advice Bureaux and local Advice Agencies in Highland on all matters relating to Money Advice and welfare benefits.
