With the assistance of European Regional Development Fund Objective 1 funding, the Planning and Development Service compiled a map-based database of major land holdings in the Highlands. This database was collated with the help of Andy Wightman, a well-known expert in Scottish land ownership.
Unfortunately, funding limitations mean that the database is no longer maintained. The database currently includes ownership changes up to the end of December 2002.
Note that definitive information of landownership can be obtained from the Registers of Scotland in Edinburgh.
