Education Culture and Sport Chairman Announces Resignation (02/08/07)

Highland Councillor Roddy Balfour, Culloden and Ardersier, has advised the Council’s Administration of his resignation as Chairman of the Education Culture and Sport Committee. He will remain as a councillor.

Councillor Park said: “Councillor Balfour has reflected on recent public statements which are at odds with Council policy.  I respect his decision and have accepted his resignation.

“Councillor Balfour is a hard working councillor, who serves his community with great diligence and I am sure he will continue to make a significant contribution to the workings of the Council from the back benches.”
