Academy pupils' art on show in the Highland Capital (03/08/07)
An all-girl art exhibition by four former sixth year pupils at Inverness Royal Academy is now on show at Inverness Museum and Art Gallery.
The exhibition includes a select sample of their coursework from their Advanced Higher Art and Design folios, from last session. The work will be on show at from 30 July to 25 August in the community Gallery on the Ground floor.
Principal Teacher of Art at Inverness Royal Academy, David Ewan said: “The girls demonstrated high skill levels in their expressive work … the selection of work on show very difficult, and this was a great opportunity for local work to be seen.”
Highland Council’s Assistant Curator (Learning and Access) Katey Boal said: “We are happy to support community work and to celebrate the achievements of young Highlanders.”
The artists are Amy Cameron, Karen Sansom and Grace Patton who all used the human figure or portrait as inspiration and Emma Neilson who produced jewellery inspired by flowers. Amy and Grace are bound for Art College in Aberdeen and Glasgow in September.
