First Ward Forum for Wick (04/09/07)
The first Ward Forum for The Highland Council electoral ward of Wick will take place in the Norseman Hotel, Wick, on Tuesday 11 September from 7.00 pm – 9.00 pm.
The meeting will be held in public and there will be a 20 minute session at the close of the meeting for the public to ask questions.
The aim of the forum is to provide an effective scrutiny of the way the Council provides services in the Wick Ward.
The meeting will be attended by the three councillors who serve Wick, Councillors Bill Fernie (Chair), Katrina Macnab, and Graeme Smith – as well as representatives from community councils, the police and other partner agencies.
Councillor Fernie said: “"I am looking forward to using the new council structures as a means for hearing from the public directly and hopefully forming a partnerhship not just with the public bodies but anyone in the area who wants to help us make things better. I hope that folk who attend the first Wick forum meeting will find it interesting to hear first hand about a variety of areas of work of the council and be able to have their questions about it answered first hand."
Providing support to the forum will be David Sutherland, Ward Manager for Thurso, Wick & Landward Caithness.
Public questions can be sent to the Ward Manager in advance – please contact David Sutherland, Ward Manager, The Highland Council, Council Offices, Market Square Wick, KW1 4AB, e-mail: email@example.com.
There will be six meetings of the Ward Forum each year with future dates yet to be agreed.
