Council sets conditions for Slackbuie retail planning application (05/02/08)

Members of The Highland Council’s Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey Planning Appplications and Review Committee today (05 February 2008) approved the legal terms and conditions for granting outline planning consent for a retail superstore, petrol filling station, five smaller retail units and associated works on land at Slackbuie, Inverness.

The application will be subject to a Section 75 legal agreement being agreed and completed with Elphinstone Land Ltd / Asda Stores which will address:

  • a financial contribution to enable enhanced public transport infrastructure and services as agreed with the Roads Authority; and
  • the transfer of land to the Council to allow for the widening of the Inverness trunk road link to dual carriageway.

Before development commences written approval from the Planning Authority must be obtained for:

  • siting, design and external appearance of all buildings and services;
  • means of access to, within and across the site by pedestrians, cyclists, public transport and by motor car;
  • proposals for surface water drainage and maintenance;
  • proposals for landscaping and maintenance;
  • design and appearance of boundary enclosures, and
  • design and siting of infrastructure for sustainability.

Since approval of the application is a departure from the adopted local plan it will  notified to the Scottish Government for due consideration.
