Inverness Advent Calendar Prize Draw Winners Announced (24/11/09)
The Inverness Winter Festival Organisers have announced details of the 24 Inverness Charities and Community Groups who will receive an early Christmas present of £100 following the Prize Draw made by six year old Duncan Forbes Primary School pupil Anya Coleman at Sunday’s (Nov 22) Christmas Lights Switch Ceremony.
The winning groups are:

- Highland Homeless Trust
- British Red Cross
- MacMillan Cancer Trust
- Balloch Traditional Hogmanay Ceilidh

- Air Training Corps
- Merkinch Community Centre
- Homeless Day Centre
- Smithton & Culloden Community Council
- Highlands and Islands Autism Society
- The Samaritans Inverness
- Inverness Bravehearts
- The Highlanders Army Cadet Force

The winning groups will be featured each day on the giant 2009 Inverness Advent Calendar which will be projected on to the wall of Inverness Museum and Art Gallery each evening from December 1st. Designed by John McGeoch of Arts in Motion, the artwork to be used for each day’s Advent Calendar remains a closely guarded secret until darkness falls and a new animated display appears to delight Inverness City Centre visitors.
