Inverness 2011 advent calendar prize draw winners announced (02/12/11)
The Inverness Winter Festival organisers have announced details of the 24 Inverness charities and community groups that will receive a welcome Christmas present of £100 from the Inverness Common Good Fund.
Their names were selected in a prize draw made by nine year old Sophie Sinclair assisted by Santa Claus at the November 20 Inverness Christmas lights switch on ceremony.
The winning groups are:

- Shop Mobility Highland 2
- British Red Cross
- Charleston Community Foundation
- Highland Hospice
- Maggie’s Highlands
- Inverness Hospital Radio
- Women’s Royal Voluntary Service
- The Archie Foundation Appeal
- Macmillan Cancer Support
- Ness Soaps
- New Start Highland
- Pets as Therapy
- Carr Gomm
- Highland Community Care Forum
- Inverness City Football Club
- Friends of Eden Court
- James Cameron Community Centre
- CLIC Sargeant
- Salvation Army
- Volunteering Highland
- Oxfam in Scotland
- Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland
Provost of Inverness, Councillor Jimmy Gray, Chairman of The Highland Council’s Inverness City Committee wishes all the winning groups a very Happy Christmas, he said: “Congratulations to the 24 community and charity groups that were successful in the Inverness Common Good Fund Christmas prize draw. We are delighted to be able to support so many organisations at this festive time and wish everyone a Happy New Year for 2012.”
