The Highland Council, Royal British Legion Scotland, Inverness Branch and representatives from the armed forces attended a ceremony in front of Inverness Town House at 11am.
The Provost of Inverness, Councillor Jimmy Gray was joined by Rev Dr Peter Howson and Brittany Thomas, Head Girl at Charleston Academy as they led the ceremony.
A bugler sounded the last post at the 11th hour; a piper played a lament and two minutes silence was observed.
