Road condition and gritting treatment reports by The Highland Council’s, Transport, Environmental and Community Services for the morning of Tuesday 18 December 2012 are as follows:
Badenoch and Strathspey
Localised icy patches after showers priority 1 and 2 routes patrolled and gritted where needed from 7:00am. Posted: 18/12/2012 12:39

Skye and Lochalsh
Widespread frost and icy patches. Treatment ongoing on all routes as required.

Ross and Cromarty
East west split this morning. East area road surface temperatures generally positive, checked higher sections of routes. East crews stood down after dawn. Sharp frost in west, continuing to check and treat routes as needed.

North Sutherland and Caithness
Frost and icy patches in North Sutherland treating where required in priority order. All clear in Caithness, temperatures higher than forecast. Posted: 18/12/2012 08:45
South Sutherland and East Ross
Roads in the West affected by hoar frost and fog. All treated. No action in the East. Road surface temperatures remained above zero. Posted: 18/12/2012 08:14
