Members of the public turned out in force to watch and join a parade on Sunday 11 November 2012 to mark Remembrance Day in Inverness.
Traffic was stopped on Ness Bridge to allow the parade to march from the Royal British Legion on Huntly Street to the Cavell Gardens War Memorial.
Organised by The Royal British Legion Scotland, Inverness Branch and supported by The Highland Council, the events reinforced the on-going importance and relevance of Armistice Day to the local community and the Highlands.
Members of the Inverness Branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland and The Highland Council, staff and uniformed youth groups paraded to the War Memorial led by Inverness British Legion Pipes and Drums.
A Service of Remembrance was conducted by Legion Padre, Reverend Alistair Murray. He was joined by pupils Kirsty Urquhart and Christine Berberabe of Inverness High School.
Provost of Inverness, Councillor Alex Graham and Councillor Carolyn Caddick, Highland Council Armed Forces and Veterans Champion laid a wreath at the memorial on behalf of The Highland Council.
