ICT Services
What is ICT Services?
In April 2006, at the Council’s Resources Committee, the Council agreed to move to a single corporate ICT organisation and proceed with an ICT procurement that would provide a single contractual arrangement for the Council's ICT, including services previously covered by Education, Culture and Sport.
As a result, a new client function and operational delivery function was created in October 2009 for managing the Council’s corporate ICT requirements both now and in the future.
ICT Services provides a robust, secure, efficient and effective Customer support service to the Council and five teams deliver governance and implementation of ICT systems to meet organisational strategic objectives and the needs of the Council.
The five teams cover the following areas:
- ICT Delivery and Customer Relations;
- Information Management and Security;
- ICT Planning and Performance;
- ICT Programme Office;
- ICT Delivery for Pathfinder North;
The current ICT estate is supported by Fujitsu Services under a new £65m contract, which commenced on 1 April 2010, for a period of 5 years, with an option to extend it by a further 2 years.
Pathfinder North is a £70m multi-Partner contract for managed network services, is supported by Cable and Wireless Worldwide and commenced on 21 March 2007 and will run for a period of 7 years.
