Ward Discretionary Budget

At the Highland Council Meeting on 31 May 2007 Members agreed that each of the 22 newly created Wards should be awarded a Discretionary Budget of £56,818.

The Discretionary Budget is managed by the Ward Manager and applications are considered in consultation with the Ward Elected Members.

Under the guidance agreed (PDF 28 Kb), some projects will be given priority, including those which attract funding from other sources. However, any reasonable applications, normally from community groups and organisations, will be considered.  It should be noted that the Ward Discretionary Budget will not  be able to support projects which require an ongoing commitment.

In order to ensure a sound audit trail, each project should be accompanied by a completed Ward Discretionary Budget application form which is available through the website. If you want to discuss a potential project or have any queries about this fund please contact your Ward Manager.
