Click to view a map of Ward 6Wester Ross, Strathpeffer and Lochalsh is one of 22 wards within the Highland area and is served by 4 councillors.  It has a population of 11,446 with the main centres being Ullapool, Kyle of Lochalsh, Strathpeffer, Lochcarron and Gairloch. Robbie Bain, Ward Manager, will ensure the efficient delivery of services within the ward and work with other agencies and community groups to maximise available funds.  He will also administer the local Ward Forum, which will comprise the four ward councillors as well as a representative from the police and community partners.

Community Benefit Workshops

Community Benefit Workshops (Poster) are planned very much with community representatives in mind such as Community Councils, Community Development Trusts and other community development organisations.  Other relevant local groups are also welcome to attend.  

Content will include:  (draft agenda)

  • discussion on the application of the allocation factors and their suitability
  • consideration of the ways CB funding can assist communities - may also involve discussion on the management and application processes for funding
  • Identification of projects that communities might be planning or would like to see taken forward with the support of the CB funding

Outcomes from the workshop sessions will be reported back to the Highland Council
