Action Notes - 19th September, 2007

Listed below is the action required as a result of the discussion and decisions taken by the Dingwall and Seaforth Ward Forum at their meeting held on 19th September 2007.
Item 2 – Action Note from Previous Meeting
All actions from the previous Forum have either been dealt with or are in hand.
Item 3 – Public Consultation
3.1 Highland Leader Programme
A verbal presentation was given by Nicole Wallace, Leader+ Development Manager – Heritage. Consultation documents and questionnaires will be the available on the Highland Council website. Paper copies are also available. Action: All present asked to take the opportunity to complete the questionnaire as it could influence the final process.
3.2 Core Paths Plan
Action: All present advised of public consultation event scheduled for Dingwall Town Hall on 27th September. Consultation documents and information are also available on the Highland Council website.
Item 4 – Community Safety
The main topic for discussion was Community Safety. Bob Cameron, Corporate Manager for Ross, Skye and Lochaber gave an overview of the current status of Community Safety and the role of the Well Being Alliance within that. The Police, Fire and Rescue Service and the Road Safety Officer also gave verbal presentations on Community Safety.
Action: Local Action Fund to be discussed at next Ward Forum.
Action: Information on free Home Safety Checks. Link to be put on Highland Council website to Fire and Rescue Service with contact phone number.
Action: Fire Risk Assessment information to be looked into by Cathie Way, Fire and Rescue Service.
Action: Request better information on Road Safety and the work done by the Road Safety Team on the Highland Council website.
Action: Community Councils to highlight their priorities in terms of Community Safety and then to work in partnership with Highland Council and Members toward making local communities safer.
Item 5 – Discretionary Budget
Update given by Ward Manager.
Action: All to note Dingwll and Seaforth Ward Discretionary Budget Forms available on the Ward Profile web site or by contacting Local Members or Ward Manager liz.cowie@highland.gov.uk or phone 01349 868681.
Action: Ward Manager to contact Ross-shire Voluntary Action to find out about the possibility of running a local workshop on ‘finding funding’ for local community groups.
Item 6 – AOCB
It was agreed that the theme for the next Ward Forum meeting would be Youth Issues.

The next Ward Forum will be held on Tuesday 30th October in the Council Offices in Dingwall at 7.30 p.m.
