2. A Presentation on environmental issues
Presentation by Debbie Maguire, Green Inverness Officer, regarding green open spaces in the Millburn Ward area.
Debate by Forum on dog fouling, grass cutting, litter and trees.
Action: Area Service Manager of TEC Services addressed the concerns and would action the points raised.
Presentation on community safety issues. Inspector Gloat updated the Forum on community policing issues. Fixed penalties will take effect from 7th Sep. Youth drinkers in the Crown area can be moved on but the police would prefer considering the problem on the whole with a city-wide forum to consider.
3. Questions from the public
Debate on Bellfield Park concerns about the maintenance of the park. This to be included in the walkabout round the Ward by Members and the Ward Manager.
Action: Ward Manager and Members to visit the area and decide how to improve this popular park.
Rose beds at Drakies were asked to be reinstated.
Action: TEC’s to look into this and report back.
Play equipment requires to be looked at in certain areas of the ward, notably Walker Park.
Action: TEC’s to investigate and report back.
Other matters arising for investigation:
· No Bus Service after 18:10 to Raigmore
· Request for speed count at Midmills Road because of traffic jams and speeding around Crown Primary
· Insufficient grasscutting at MacKenzie Park and Harris Road
· Waterways on Drakies Estates – inspection due
· Suggestion of stickers on bins with telephone number for free uplifts, to reduce levels of flytipping
· Rose bushes require removal on Drumossie Avenue
It was noted that if blue bins were not collected they should be left out and would be uplifted the following day
4. Date of next meeting
Still to be decided but theme for next meeting will be Youth Activities.
