3. A Presentation on Youth Provision – Mags Duncan-Stirling
Action: List of Activities to be distributed through the schools to the parents (currently being compiled by youth workers and Area Schools Coordinator) – ECS

 

4. A Presentation on Community Safety & Crime in the Countryside – Inspector Mike Coates

 

5. A Presentation on Community Transport – Jim McCreath
Action:  Request for volunteers to do the MIDAS training in order to enable groups of children to access the youth provision as detailed by Mags Duncan-Stirling

 

6. Questions from the public
Q: Pedestrian Crossing at the bottom of Tower Road near Forestry Commission Building – permission for this crossing has now been granted due to volume of traffic – when will this crossing and the one at the top of Tower Road be in place.
A: Funding is available from Safer Routes to Schools and it is due to be completed within this financial year.  The crossing at the top is down to the Developer Contribution.
Action: Find out when both crossings will be in place – Charles Stephen

Q: Road Repairs on B9039 & B9002
Action: Charles Stephen to meet with Willie Milne (Ardersier & Petty Community Council) to look at the specific areas in question and will contact TECS for answers.

Q: Paths approaching the new Cawdor Primary – funding agreed from Safer Routes from Schools?
Action: Cllr Balfour to determine where this is up to.

Q: Interviews at Smithton Primary for new Head Teacher.  There was a request for 3 Parent Council members to attend the interviews.  No details with regard to time, venue, when – information was not forthcoming until 2 days before the interviews.
Action: Cllr Balfour to take this up with Area Education Manager – It is a new system with Parent Councils/Highland Council/etc and will take time to bed in.

Q: Bus Timetables – information out of date.
Action: Charles Stephen to contact Bob Edward to send up-to-date timetables to Willie Milne (Ardersier & Petty Community Council.

Q: Community Council Members travel expenses to Ward Forums
Action: Cllr Balfour felt that financial assistance should be available – to be discussed at Ward Business Meeting and further with City Manager David Haas.
