The Council's Emergency Planning Team are based in the Council's Emergency Centre, Mackintosh Road, Raigmore, Inverness IV2 3TX

Emergency Planning are tasked with ensuring the Council meets it's statutory obligations under the Civil Contingencies Regulations and, it's humanitarian obligations to be prepared, in the form of contingency plans, to respond to and mitigate the effects of Major / Significant Emergencies.  

The planning process covers the full spectrum of hazards, and requires related training and exercising with regular review of the planning arrangements.

The planning process draws together all the response agencies including Police, Fire, Ambulance, Coastguard, Health Board, Local Authorities, Public Utilities Government Departments Industry and the Voluntary Agencies.
