Food Hygiene Advice

Training and Advice

Food Hygiene Regulations require that all food handlers are supervised and/or instructed and/or trained in Food Hygiene matters, commensurate with their work activities.

Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced Food Hygiene training courses for persons in the food industry are run by various colleges and private training companies throughout the Highlands.  Courses are also available which offer specific training on Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point Systems (HACCP) and Hazard Analysis Systems.  These are Food Safety Management Systems which seek to identify food safety hazards and put appropriate safety measures in place to prevent problems occurring.

Details of the above courses are available from Area Environmental Health Offices.

Food Safety advice is freely available to existing or prospective food businesses - please contact your area Environmental Health Office.
