Health and Safety are responsible for:

• Ensuring that the Council meets its statutory obligations in respect of the health,
• safety and welfare at work of its employees and
• all others affected by its
  activities;
• Developing policies, procedures and standards;
• Monitoring and inspecting workplaces and investigating accidents, incidents and
  occupational ill-health;
• Providing health and safety training;
• Promoting occupational health
