Building Standards

Almost all new building work from house extensions to a new rooflight needs a Building Warrant and a Completion Certificate to ensure that it is safe to use and fit for its purpose.

Building Standards ensure that all new or altered buildings comply with the Building Regulations which set national standards for health and safety, and implement much of the Governments policy on the conservation of fuel and power.
