Green Networks: Interim Supplementary Guidance

Other Assessments and Information / A96 Corridor Green Network

Green Networks comprise of a network of greenspaces and green corridors within and around settlements, linking out into the wider countryside. They can help to enhance the area’s biodiversity, quality of life and sense of place. A green network also provides the setting in which high quality, sustainable development can occur.

The interim supplementary guidance provides guidance on what a green network is and how an enhanced Highland green network can be delivered. The guidance was adopted as interim supplementary guidance and a material planning consideration by the Planning, Environment and Development Committee on the 25h May 2011 and will be a consideration in all planning application after this date.
