Highland Wide Local Development Plan | Main Issues Report | Examination | Other Assessments and Information
Responses
The consultation on the Proposed Plan ran from the 24th of September 2010 - 3rd December 2010. The responses to this consultation were reported to the Planning Environment and Development Committee on 16th March 2011. Over 300 responses were received. These have been redacted and are available to view here.
The Planning Environment and Development Committee considered the Council's proposed response to these representations at the meeting on 16th March 2011. The proposed responses were grouped by issue and are available in their draft form here.
The proposed plan has now progressed to the Examination stage.
The proposed plan is the first formal stage of the Development Planning process. The proposed plan takes account of all of the views made on the Main Issues Report (these have been summarised and key points have been responded to here: Highland-wide Local Development Plan Appendix 2 (pdf 1.9mb)). The Proposed Plan provides a firmer view on the content of the plan. The proposed plan will contain the following:
- A vision – what the Highlands could be in 20 years.
- A spatial strategy – where development could go.
- Development management policies – policies to help decide planning applications.
- A proposals map – showing what type of development could happen and where.
The public consultation on the Proposed Plan finished on the 3rd December 2010.
As part of the Scottish Government's EPlanning programme you can still view the proposed plan online by using our Online Local Development Plan
