The Examination has concluded and the Report of Examination has been received and are available below:

Paper copies of the report have been made available for reference at Council HQ, the Area Planning & Building Standards Office at Drummuie, Golspie and Public Libraries in Sutherland.  The Reporter's recommendations are generally binding on the Council, with only very limited circumstances set out in regulations in which the Council may decline to follow the recommendations.  We have summarised highlights from the Report of Examination, focussing on those site allocations that are recommended by the Reporter for deletion from the Local Plan:

The Report of Examination was considered by the Planning, Environment & Development Committee on 17 March 2010 and the Council has subsequently published the Plan As Modified together with associated documents including the Notice of Intention to Adopt the Local Plan As Modified.

Other documents relation to the Examination are available below.

In addition to the appointment of Mrs Allison Coard MA MPhil RTPI to carry out the examination of the Plan, Scottish Ministers also appointed an additional Reporter, Mr Richard Dent BSc (Hons) MA DipTP FRTPI to support the speedy delivery of the report.
