A replacement local plan for those parts of Badenoch and Strathspey which lie within the Cairngorm National Park is being prepared by the Cairngorm National Park Authority (CNPA). You can keep up to date with progress of the plan via the planning pages on the CNPA website.

You can view the different sections of the Badenoch and Strathspey Local Plan website by clicking the links below:

• Existing Local Plan - adopted in September 1997; 
• Development Briefs and Framework Plans - non-statutory documents for specific sites, providing information and guidance to potential developers;
• Development Plan Policy Guidance - provide more detailed guidance for Local Plans, development control, developers and the public on the interpretation of specific policies contained in the Highland Structure Plan.
• Houses in Multiple Occupation  - Draft Supplementary Planning Guidance
• Open Space Supplementary Planning Guidance - provides guidance on both the design and provision of greenspace, sport and recreation facilities throughout the Highlands.
