On 13 June 2005, the Caithness Planning, Development, Europe and Tourism Committee approved the Dounreay Planning Framework document for public consultation. The document has been designed to translate the decommissioning and restoration proposals described in UKAEA’s Dounreay Site Restoration Plan (DSRP) into a land use planning framework for the timely, safe and environmentally acceptable decommissioning, restoration and after use of the Dounreay site. Once approved by the Council’s Planning, Development, Europe and Tourism Committee, this document will become supplementary planning policy guidance, written to support the policies contained in the adopted Caithness Local Plan.
The consultation period ended on 12th September 2005. Written comments on the Dounreay Planning Framework (Consultative Draft) were required to be submitted by that date.
