Welcome to the on-line, interactive version of the Wester Ross Local Plan, which was adopted by Highland Council in June 2006.

The Local Plan is one of the key documents The Council uses when assessing planning applications in Wester Ross. If you want to know what the Local Plan says about a particular area, this on-line version allows you to create a customised report at the click of a button. The report will tell you:
- Whether the area you have selected lies within an identified Settlement Development Area or within the Countryside area;
- Whether the area is allocated for a particular type of development such as housing, affordable housing, business or industry, redevelopment or community use; and
- The specific Local Plan policies which apply to the area, and which The Council will take into account in dealing with a planning application.
Every effort has been made to ensure that the electronic version of the Wester Ross Local Plan accessible through this web-site is as similar to the definitive paper version as possible. However, the appearance of the Proposals Map is different due to the greater clarity of electronic displays, and the fact that the background information used for the interactive Local Plan displays the most up to date available. This interactive Plan should therefore be used in conjunction with the original paper version of the plan, which is available on the Wester Ross Local Plan Homepage.
